Adolfo Sotoca-García

Adolf Sotoca is Ass. Professor of the Urban Design and Planning Department of the UPC_BarcelonaTECH, where he teaches architectural & urban design and planning at the graduate, master and PhD levels.

Professor Adolf Sotoca is PhD architect in Urbanism (2006). He is also M. Arch in Architecture and a M.S. in Urban Design and Planning by the Polytechnic University of Catalonia-Barcelona Tech (UPC).
Since 2002 professor Sotoca is teaching at UPC and has been visiting professor in many universities (among them Berlage Institute, ETH Zürich, TU Darmstadt, Istituto Universitario di Architettura di Venezia and CTU Krakow). He is also executive or scientific member of several international institutions focused on Urbanism, such as IFoU (International Forum of Urbanism), EMU (European Postgraduate Master of Urbanism) or the scientific journal Housing Environment.

Professor Sotoca is author of a vast number of articles and books on Urbanism. He is right now working in several projects related to Urban Regeneration of obsolete residential areas. Since 2006 he is also a regular writer of the Regional Planning Catalan Society (SCOT) being focused on the physical and social implementation of urban projects and master plans all around the Catalan territory.
